They say a rising tide raises all ships, right? Well, I'm opening the floodgates in this upcoming studio workshop, and explaining to you every step that I take to paint the perfect pet portrait (say that 5 times fast!)

Ten (10) seats will be filled by experienced artists who are determined to up their game and improve their painting skills. Ten artists will learn how to provide a higher quality product for their own customers, meaning hundreds of people will be better served with more impressive custom paintings. 

That's the goal, right? To create art that impacts and inspires people. I will give you the confidence to do this well, and the mentorship to help your art business flourish.

In this workshop, we will cover:

EDUCATION - 12:30 - 2:00pm
    Proportions 
          • Prepping your canvas 
          • Mastering the initial sketch 
    Fur and Texture
          • Short, long and curly hair texture
          • Blocking in contrasting tones
    Color and Lighting
          • Color mixing with accuracy
          • Capturing cool and warm lighting
          • Adding light to poorly lit reference photos
    Final touches
          • Tricks to bringing your painting to life

PAINTING SESSION - 2:00 - 4:00pm
          • 2 hour painting session - As a group, we will quickly and confidently work through the lessons learned, and create a loose painting of a dog using one pre-selected reference photo. The painting session will be concluded with a group  critique, which - as intimidating as it sounds - will be the point in the workshop we will grow the most as artists!

Important note: As stated, this is a workshop for experienced artists. No one will be restricted from registration or refused entry, but note that the 2 hour painting session will be fast paced, and I will be painting along with the group, so I will only be able to stop and offer assistance a few times.
