At the beginning of this year, I found myself in a tough spot: all of my weddings from March-August were either postponed or cancelled, and the steady stream of custom painting inquiries I had grown accustomed to had dramatically slowed to a trickle, as the country pressed pause and entered quarantine.
Obviously, I needed to get creative with how I earned an income for the foreseeable future, but my heart was struggling to find inspiration. I started doing a small 8x10" "warm-up" painting every morning to get my creative juices flowing, and out of that process came the inspiration for this series. The Ginger Jars were a crowd favorite, so I painted a few larger pieces, featuring delicate bouquets of hydrangeas, tulips, lemons and greenery. This series made my heart so happy, and helped me maintain my sanity during the quarantine.
